Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Watch Reserves LLC ("Watch Reserves", "we", "us") collects, uses and shares personal information when you visit watchreserves.com, buy from us, sign up for our emails or texts, start a return, or contact us. We are the controller of your personal information for these purposes. The Site runs on Shopify.
Information we collect
- Contact and order details: your name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping addresses, and what you buy, return or cancel.
- Payment information: handled at checkout by Shopify and its payment processors (and by Global-e for international orders). We do not see or store full card numbers.
- Account information: your login details and preferences, if you create an account.
- Communications: what you tell us when you email, call, use a form on the Site (for example the contact, consignment or advisory forms), or start a return.
- Device and usage information: your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, items added to cart, how you arrived at the Site, and similar data collected through cookies, pixels and similar technologies.
- Information from partners: for example, which ad you clicked on Meta (Facebook or Instagram) or Reddit, or an order you placed through the Shop app.
How we use it
- To process and ship your orders, take payment, handle returns and issue refunds and store credit.
- To provide customer support and respond to consignment and advisory enquiries.
- To send order and shipping updates.
- To send marketing emails and texts you have agreed to receive, including cart reminders.
- To measure and improve our advertising, and to show our ads to people likely to be interested, including people who have visited the Site.
- To prevent fraud, keep the Site secure, and comply with the law.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the business, and only as needed for the purposes above:
- Shopify, which hosts the Site and processes checkout. Shopify also uses some data under its own Consumer Privacy Policy, including for the Shop app.
- Global-e, which processes international orders, currency conversion, duties and taxes.
- Payment processors such as Shopify Payments, PayPal and Shop Pay.
- Shipping carriers (FedEx and UPS), which receive your name, address and phone number to deliver your order.
- Klaviyo, which sends our emails and text messages.
- Advertising partners such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Reddit and, where we advertise with them, Google, which receive information about visits and purchases (including through their pixels and server-side conversion tools) so we can measure our ads and reach relevant audiences.
- Hosting and email providers we use to run our returns portal and site forms.
- Authorities and others when the law requires it, to protect our rights or prevent fraud, or as part of a sale or reorganisation of the business.
Text messaging: we do not share or sell your mobile phone number or text-messaging consent with third parties for their own marketing. Text-message opt-in data is used only to send you the messages you agreed to receive.
Sharing data with advertising partners for targeted advertising may count as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under some US state privacy laws. You can opt out at any time (see "Your choices" below). We do not sell personal information for money.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and pixels to keep your cart, remember your preferences, understand how the Site is used, and measure and personalise advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, although the cart and checkout may not work without them. We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as an opt-out of targeted advertising for the browser that sends it. We do not respond to other "Do Not Track" signals.
Your choices
- Opt out of targeted advertising and data "sales": visit Your Privacy Choices, or turn on GPC in your browser.
- Marketing emails: use the unsubscribe link in any email.
- Text messages: reply STOP to any message, or text STOP to +1 (844) 624-0947. Reply HELP for help.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example California, other US states with privacy laws, the UK or the EEA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain uses, to withdraw consent, and to appeal a decision we make about your request. To make a request, email connect@watchreserves.com. We will verify your identity before acting, respond within the time the law requires, and never discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You may use an authorised agent; we will ask for proof of their authority. If you are in the UK or EEA, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Retention
We keep order and transaction records for as long as needed for tax, accounting and legal purposes, and to honour our lifetime authenticity guarantee. We keep marketing data until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, and other data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, and payments are processed on Shopify's PCI-compliant infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send sensitive information to us by email.
International transfers
We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process data in the US and other countries. Where UK or EEA data is transferred, we rely on recognised safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Children
The Site is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will post the new version here and change the "Last updated" date, and give notice where the law requires it.
